As long time Fat Lace readers will remember, mere adjectives can’t possibly convey the love we have for Spoonie, and Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas made all of our fantasies come true in one fell swoop as we drove around in a cadillac dressed like a member of South Central Cartel picking up buxom hookers to the strains of Spoonie’s classic ‘The Godfather’.
So it’s high time we share a rare Spoonie cut which, as far as we know, has never been ripped for internet consumption before. Not much is known about this one other than it was apparently recorded sometime around 1990 but didn’t appear until around 2005 when Spoonie put it out himself, and it’s very much in the same vein as those other laid back and fonky late 80′s Spoonie tracks like ‘Spoonie Gee’, ‘She’s My Girl’ and ‘In The Place To Be’.
One of Spoonie’s more slept on cuts for the road? Spoonie was one of rap’s first great storytellers and Davy DMX was a beast on the boards back in the mid 80s.

I find a lot of spoonie’s stuff gets overlooked these days, a lot of the those I know that got into hip hop in the mid 90′s just don’t seem to appreciate the music, and davy dmx too, but these are legends.
Love Rap/New Rap Language is the best double header 12″, like, evah.
