Adding that Govna Matic 12″ to my wants list. Definately got a freestyling cipher with Jersey’s finest late night on some NJ radio show type steez goin’ on.
lots of stuff I never heard before, the ringmaster 12″ has to move to the top of the ‘to find’ list. only records i remember buying from groove were the early blade 12″s and ‘eric b is president’. among my john peel firsts were ‘go michael air jordan’ by scorpio and jazzy jay which i still feel is a decent record and doesn’t go for much nowadays, ‘the circus’ by divine sounds and the, what was then jaw dropping ‘timebomb’ by PE. there was another record store in london i went to (before discovering arcade records in nottingham) called red records which was not too shabby. i still have a slipmat. i also have the seville 12″. i’ll trade it for the dynamic mcs…
Yo, that record shop in SF is called Soul Disco Records. Legendary spot owned by Bobby G – the old guy with a pony tail. Crazy you copped that 5 one 6 record there. I love that record, for reals. If you ever find a copy of their album, let me know.
