HHC appreciation week, day 4. Today we find the Demon Boyz in interview with Simon Dine. We know you’re busy but this a great piece so try and read it rather than just look at the picture and listen to the audio. They’re brilliant snapshhots of hip-hop history. The Boyz opine about oddly shaped eyebrows, how they were discovered by Dave Pearce, Thatcherism and come up with one of the best euphemism’s for police brutality we’ve heard.

Begs the question, what were your favourite Music Of Life highlights?

An early Demon Boyz Radio Session:

    co sign burial proceedings …

Recognition and International Karate albums both absodope (cant remember if IK was on MOL though?)…

for sheer hardcority though it’s got to be Hijack. matter of fact, Style Wars is still as proper as any US release ever was, is or will be. scientific fact.

shout out to she-rockers “give it a rest” n’all…

i remember at the time though I wasn’t feeling MOI as a label, I think partly cause it seemed like they were trying to usurp the electro series but the music weren’t as good, mind you this was before Recognition, when their top boys were Derek B and Nomis fuckin Sirrah.

and even though beggars couldn’t be choosers in 87, the Hard as Hell series was still pretty shit….
