expensive shit, but what can you do?! I don’t think I’d be able to sleep without having those records! Please don’t put out any more because I need to buy food and pay the rent.
This is alright but Enter The Dragon is much better.
‘alright’ compared to dragon, but fucking amazing compared to most crap coming out these days. When I hear tunes like I Declare War it reminds me of what I love about Hip Hop and makes me want to throw all my TI & Lil Wayne records in the dustbin.
Nah.
This is just slightly above average golden-era ‘G Rap and it’s over-reactions from jaded old rap fans to merely decent unreleased material like this which make me want to burn all all my Cold Chillin’ records.
This is not exactly Men At Work, Road To The Riches or Poison and i can think of a ton of songs from last year, a couple of which are by Lil’ Wayne or T.I, that are much better than this.
Maybe I’m a bit jaded, but I’m not one of those people like Edan who only listen to stuff pre-1990 or whatever and there’s a lot of recent/new stuff I like a lot and some modern classics still and TI & wayne have made some gems as well as some dog turd. But I just don’t know if I feel them over people like G Rap in their prime, lyrically or flow-wise and as much as I like their producers I don’t know if they touch Marley in his prime. I’m sure it’s not just jaded fools who thinks that, I’m pretty sure even Lil Wayne and TI wouldn’t rate themselves above vintage Cold Chillin’, then again, they prob aint even heard of Cold Chillin’. You’d be suprised how many newer MC’s who just don’t know the roots of the music they make or even care about the pioneers. I’d be interested in knowing what tracks by Wayne & TI you feel more than this G Rap tune.
‘Hot Chillin’. I think Marley’s been watching too much heston blumentall with that hot ice cream shit.
Brian, you are either an utter idiot… or you’re just messin around.
This track rates up there as one of G Rap’s finest cuts. ‘Enter The Dragon’ is dope as well.
Please, as requested already, let’s hear which tracks by Wayne and T.I. you think are better than this and I’ll give them a listen. Thanks.
Tony
LOL @ this being one of the finest ‘G Rap moments ever.
Do you want me to hold your dick for you when you piss too? Do the research on T.I and Weezy yourself.
THis isn’t one of his finest comapred to poison or kool is back, but it is amongst his better stuff if you compare it to later stuff he did, with the odd exception. I’m just wondering if you think that that TI & Rhianna is better than this G Rap tune or whether you mean ‘Bring It Out’ or one of the many album cuts or non-album tracks or summin’, just wanna see where your coming from with you rating some TI & Weezy tracks over this and if that’s based on the production or their lyrics or flows or what?
it’s all subjective Brian, I know many friends who’d rate Weezy or TI over this, but they’re all 10 years younger than me (early to mid 20′s) and they don’t rate much older rap records at all, but you were listening to Hip Hop back in the 80′s right? (maybe not?) That’s why I’m curious.
Instead of asking me stupid questions maybe you should spend your time developing a more sophisticated social circle beyond the old backpackers and young boys you’re currently rolling with then?
That T.I & Rhianna song is clearly better than the combined catalogues of every artist to ever release records on Pop Art, NIA and Cold Chillin’.
stupid questions? Just wondering which TI and Wayne records you feel are as decent as the cold chillin’ oldies, classic or not so classic. Just wan’t to see where your coming from with that and to see if my opinions would change if I listened to the tunes back to back. I have the records by weezy and TI and this G Rap one and at the moment I’d hang onto the G-Rap over the others if I had to choose. But I’d like to see the argument against that, a different perspective innit, not saying I’m right, your wrong, just trying to understand.
You ask far too many questions, my man.
I’d wondered who you were since that thread had started on SS about your online weirdness.
Brian, you are a thorough idiot! Good work!
what’s SS?
