Westwood Wednesdays #16

Caption competition anyone? After we hit hit you with that Bambattytastic post just a few days ago we thought this particular episode of Westwood’s Zulu Message was particularly fitting. On the surface, this photo, actually let’s not talk about what we see on the surface. What we actually see is some particularly larkish comradery between John Lydon and Afrika Bambaataa during the recording of ‘World Destruction’.  In this column Westwood gives you a heads up on the forthcoming release schedule from Tuff City Records and much more, another great flashback, this time to January 1995.

We picked out this gem from his Top 20 chart.

Spoonie Gee – New Love Rap

good to see ‘mechanism’ and ‘it’s not right’ in that chart, 2 old faves from way back. Vocoder on Mechanism >>>>>>>>>>>>> Autotune bullshit that’s around now.

Since we’re Spoonie Gee-d out, that EP of unreleased joints which came out a few months back is really kinda cool.
