I think the piano breakdown on Ike’s Mood as used on Make The Music and Grand Groove rmx etc. is one of my fave Hip Hop breaks ever, was listening to the To Be Continued LP earlier, incredible, he’ll prob be best remembered for Shaft and South Park, but that LP but personally it’s all about To Be, Tough Guys, Truck Turner…R.I.P. Isaac Hayes.

Yeah, Hot Buttered Soul and Shaft are the albums which get all the praise but To Be Continued is probably his 2nd best LP after Hot Buttered Soul. Everything he did up to the mid 70’s is great, though.

Fav’ Ike sampling hip hop songs?

My Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me
    Warning
Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos
    Turn Off The Radio
    Can I Live?
    The Hood Took Me Under
    Dead Bent

He even made Tricky just about listenable.
