Rapper’s Retirement homes #14

We’ve told you before that not every rapper from the indie era spunked all their loot on FUBU coats and unlistenable 88 Keys production. Some wisely invested and retrained knowing that a change was coming. Siah, out of Siah and Yeshua Dapo ED, was so prescient he predicted the shift to MP3′s, file sharing, Facebook, Twitter, Dancing Hamsters and Lil’ Wayne basically licking out Baby. He saw it all and he got out while the getting was good. He could have worked as a supervisor in Papaya King, but exercising that third eye vision rappers bang on about, he trained as an optometrist and opened a practice in London, England. Using the motto ‘Buy a copy of ‘Pyrite’ and I’ll make your eye right’, Siah opened for business in 2002 and is going from strength to strength. Actually, as the photo shows, that’s a lie, he’s about to close down. That’s because the only customer he’s ever had in for an eye examination is Del tha Funkee etc. It’s also because Yeshua Dapo ED (not his real name) opened his own optometrist round the corner, called The Visualz. He offers designer frames and also has a sexy lady working for him. He really is going from strength to strength, despite his unwieldy business motto: “We can’t promise you a ‘Glass Bottom Boat’ but we can promise you GLASSes at rock BOTTOM prices. And a picture of a BOAT’.

Talking of Del. I saw Rahzel shout out those all representing the real a number of years back. The list included Del The Funky Homosexual. He did correct himself and was rather embarrassed he had said it but it made my evening.
