How best to protest about the lack of local council provision for the ‘physically impaired’? Or ‘Differently Abled’? ‘Or Lesser Athletic’? Or, to adopt Big L’s formulation that is set to become the next PC buzzphrase: ‘Handicap and Cripple Bitches’? Write a stiff letter to your local politician bemoaning the parlous state of the disabled shitters in your borough? Wave a placard outside parliament only you’re pretty much not allowed to any more? Point out that there’s no disabled e-ramp into your favourite e-store? (Have you tried getting into eBay when you’re a Davros?). Well, disabled graf artist Sam S. Needs took it to the streets with this classic of protest art. While everyone else is copying Banksy by going out with a stencil, he brought the timeless street dobber to the council signage. Take that, bureaucrat! And just like that, several councillors resigned. Or they might have been sacked for spunking the town twinning funds on extensions for their houses. This we’re not sure about. The leader of the council where this piece of art was perpetrated WAS available for comment: “What, I’ve got to build some loos for some no-legs because some yob scratched a cock on a sign. Who is this calling again? Fat Face? Aren’t you a middle of the road clothes shop?’
Please bear in mind we’re not laughing AT the disabled. We’re laughing NEAR the disabled.
