I like this. And I didn’t feel his last EP one bit.. Dizzee is the UK’s best rapper by a mile though, but which rapper doesn’t claim to be the best?
I dont agree about Dizzee being the best. But then im no expert on grime. If i had to choose out of Dizzee and Sway, Sway would get my pick. Overall voice and flow destroys Dizzee.
For me, Dizzee just does everything right. His album’s aren’t perfect masterpieces but they’re diverse, they bang, he know how to make a single, his flow is impeccable and totally works with the beat (unlike Sway in most cases IMO) and he works his Bow E3 accent in the same way Pimp C rocked his Texas twang – Dizzee also branched out and had UGK on his album and they had him on theirs.. an honour for any emcee. He also wrecked it on Fellie Fell’s show with the Grit Boys! I dunno, he just seems to tick all the boxes that people like Lupe don’t..
Sway is dope. I like both, but Sway is a bit more lyrical than Dizzee, I feel. They’re both great though.
Im not convinced. Dizzee sounds sloppy he just grates on me ya know? I heard Dizzee way back on Westwood, he tried to freestyle some shit over current beats and couldnt get his timing right sounded amateurish I couldnt help but LMAO.
I heard Sway on radio coming off sloppy on a freestyle and pyreli was aweful with freestyle, that was around the time of the ‘whose gonna sign sway’ thing and I thought nobody if they hear him thyming like that,it was on 1xtra in around 2006 and he sounded pretty crumby, Pyreli was on 1xtra with kardinal and kardinal tore him to shreds (it wasnt a battle but pyrelli sounded amateur in comparison, but then again Kardi’s one of the worlds finest in my opionion)…as for dizzee, his voice grates me a bit, but he has some intersting and new school sounding beats, not always my cuppa, but he tries to break ground with the music whereas Sway has a crazy nice flow on records and some great lyrics but he chooses some beats where I think he’s trying too hard to be pop/crossover and the tunes just sound a bit wishy washy and lightweight and wouldn’t appeal to a hardcore rap fan or the pop market, whereas Dizzee gets the pop market with some raw beats. There was one tune I liked by sway but it wasn’t on vinyl, can’t remember the title, but it was nice. If I had been 16 or 17 when up your speed came out I’d have loved it coz Milton Keynes was my old stomping ground and he gives it a shout out. I’m 35 now though.
Track is biggggggggggggggggg! Sway has dun his ting on dis ! xxxxxx
