Whilst the idea of paying for digital files is anathema to most hip-hop fans, they’re being invited to do just that by Amalgam Digital. The first 100 cats to drop $8.99 on a download of Kurious’ minor classic ‘A Constipated Monkey’ will be laced with 6 bonus demo tracks, which apparently pre-date the LP. As far as we know, these tracks haven’t leaked before, so it’s a nice find for fans of the 1 album wonder. The pick of them is the Prince Paul produced ‘Rice and Beans’ and the SD50’s laced ‘Trueness with the Blueness’, which you can peep below. Don’t worry if you’re not one of the 100, it’ll be available at every blog in about two days.

LOL, headline.
I bought this by the way – didn’t feel like waiting.
Also I don’t believe the “first 100″ limit thing for a minute.

The quality on those bonus mp3s is pretty poor, though.

I couldn’t believe at the quality, were they just ripped from tape?, I love them all and never thought I would ever hear them, a little annoyed that “Fill er Up” is so short and how is “I’m Kurious” (remix) a 96 k rip? amazing.
Please add my blog to the blogroll
Peace

I interned at Amalgam in the summer and they are all good doods that work there.
how does AmalgamDigital owe alot of people money? They just launched that website one week ago.. and my boy’s label goes through the distribution and actually gets paid on sales. plus I spoke with Breeze Brewin of Juggaknots at a show recently and he was really pleased with dealing with them as a label. I also heard a “re mastered” version of the bonus tapes on 2LP vinyl with extended length and more songs is on the way. I wouldnt expect a demo tape from the early 90s to be in good quality..besides its free.
